Pose of the week

















Hanumanasana (Monkey Pose)

Benefits

  • Stretches the thighs, hamstrings, groins
  • Stimulates the abdominal organs

Contraindications and Cautions

  • Groin or hamstring injuries
Don't push this one! This is an intense hamstring stretch. Only come down as far as is comfortable. I find it's best practiced on a bare floor without a sticky mat, with a bolster or block if you need extra support/padding.
I like to prepare with lunges, forward bends and gentle hip openers and finish with Eka Pada Rajakapotasana.
