"Zwelethu Mthethwa is an artist based in Cape Town, best known for his large-format colour photographs.

While in residence for The Welcome Collection, Zwelethu explored the role that communities play in contributing to the research of the Africa Centre in the small town of Mtubatuba, in KwaZulu-Natal province. He was interested in putting a human face to the collection of data and in giving people the opportunity to document their own perceptions of health."

Currently part of the Foreign Bodies Common Ground exhibition at The Welcome Collection.

Mind and Movement

Go and see this exhibition at The Welcome collection!

Wayne McGregor is well known for his physically testing choreography and ground-breaking collaborations across dance, film, music, visual art, technology and science and this exhibition offers a glimpse into the process behind his work.

It beautifully shows ways in which mind and movement interact in each and every one of us. Inspiring.

Life and Death

Today I went to see both Mariko Mori: Rebirth at The Royal Academy (open until 17th February) and Death: A self portrait at The Welcome Collection (open until 24th February) and I wholly recommend them both, especially The Welcome Collection for the chandelier made of 3000 plaster-cast bones by British artist Jodie Carey. Stunning.

The Welcome Collection

I went to see the Superhuman exhibition at The Welcome Collection today. It's really fascinating and well worth a visit if you are in London, in fact that Museum is worth a visit any time, the programme of exhibitions is always interesting.
My favourite so far has been Skin.
